Hello parents and welcome back, students. It is time to start a brand new school year, and I am excited for you to share your 8th grade year with me. Our class will be fun and interesting, but education will always come first. For you to have a successful year and for our class to be the best, I have high expectations for each and every one of you.
Class Expectations (in addition to school rules):
- Be Respectful.
- Be Responsible.
- Be Ready.
You will be assessed on a regular basis. It is imperative that I am able to see if you understand the material we are learning. The assessments will consist of daily class work or homework, quizzes, tests, and at least one project. I expect you to complete your homework when it is given (especially if time is given during class).
-If a student is absent, it is your (the student’s) responsibility to get the work you missed from the ‘make-up work’ tray, as well as the appropriate notes from the missed day.
-All late work will have a deadline due date.
Tests and Projects – 40 % Quizzes – 35 %
Class/Homework work – 25 %
-No candy, food, or drinks allowed in class. You may have bottled water.
-Do not leave your seat without permission.
-Do not touch lab equipment or counters(including teacher’s desk and sinks) without permission.
-No horseplay in the class.
-If you have any questions at any time please feel free to contact me at school: firstname.lastname@example.org or (336) 242-5705
