6th Grade-Computer Skills and Applications (Keyboarding/Word)

Keyboarding is a module driven course.  Students will learn the following:
  • alpha keys,
  • number/symbol keys,
  • building speed and accuracy,
  • basic Word formatting,
  • letter formatting, and
  • table formatting.
Students have their own Google classroom where assignments are posted as well as additional links and attachments for assignments.  Students who are absent should check the Google classroom for missing assignments.

In addition to Google classroom, we utilize www.quia.com for assessing and reviewing.  Students begin typing using www.typing.com.  Students are self paced and receive immediate feedback regarding their speed and accuracy for each lesson.  Students who find themselves falling behind may utilize this software at home.
